The Womb Room is a support and information service aimed at young women experiencing fertility problems and medical conditions specific to females. It also promotes awareness about making good choices about reproductive health.
When Saschan Fearon-Josephs had surgery to remove her right ovary and fallopian tube after several months of problems, she noticed that there wasn’t enough support or information for young women in her position. That’s why Saschan decided to set up The Womb Room.

She wanted to help other young women and educate them about making the right choices, knowing the symptoms of these medical conditions, and offering advice on what they should consider doing next if they have concerns.
The Womb Room hosts workshops aiming to find out how much knowledge school children have of female reproductive health issues, and Saschan intends to use this information to propose ways that more education can be provided in schools. The aim is to get more information about these issues onto the national curriculum.
Saschan hopes that the project will have helped over 2,000 young women during its first year.
