Here are some of the stories of people changing their world for the better we’ve been talking about this week.

First up is one of ours – It’s the launch of the Summer Of Great Ideas. We’re looking for the next set of great ideas to back this summer, and so this story is really about you and how you want to change your world. Find out about the Summer Of Great Ideas here. And join the conversation with the #SummerOfIdeas hashtag and tell us what ideas you have for this summer. The deadline to be a part of the Summer Of Great Ideas is the 31st of May 2012 – so get those ideas brewing!

Find out about the school in San Fransisco that takes a very different approach to learning. They have just 20 students, and each of them were given a drill when they arrived and given the chance to explore and learn independently in the school’s building space. Pozitive Movement aims to change attitudes in the community after the riots in London last year. Rory Morgan wants to talk to younger and older people alike to create more communication in the community and improve relations in his area of London. Read the story here.

UnLtd are looking for six Colleges to work with to support young social entrepreneurs. We tell you more about what social entrepreneurship is and how UnLtd wants to work with colleges and further education institutions to get more people thinking about social entrepreneurship and going into business to make a change in their world. Can an App convince Londoners to cycle and walk to work? An app that gives people options for their journey and rewards them with discounts on products has launched. They’re hoping people will start changing the way they make their usual journeys to be more environmentally friendly. Read the full story here.

And finally…

All this week there have been people living #belowtheline by challenging themselves to live off just £1 (or $1.50 in the USA) per day on food for a working week. “The intention is to increase awareness that will drive action to support poverty,” Michael Trainer, U.S. country director for the Global Poverty Project said.
